HYDERABAD, DEC 23. The Anti-Corruption branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation caught on Thursday a divisional engineer of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited at Nizamabad town accepting a bribe of Rs. 30,000 for doing an official favour. According to a CBI release, K. Rama Rao, the Divisional Engineer (Operations) had demanded the bribe from a contractor, who was looking after maintenance and operations of air conditioning units for BSNL exchanges in Nizamabad district, for passing pending bills worth Rs. 1.16 lakhs. The accused has been arrested and the Hyderabad branch of the CBI is investigating the case.
