KARIMNAGAR, DEC 23. The Minister for Endowments, M. Satyanarayana Rao, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members of the former Prime Minister, P.V Narasimha Rao. In a statement here on Thursday night, Mr. Satyanarayana Rao said that Mr. Rao's death was a great loss to the Congress and the nation as a whole. The Bharatiya Janata Party district president, P. Sugunakar Rao, has said that the nation in general and Karimnagar district in particular had lost a great leader. The TRS district president, C. Satyanarayana Rao, lauded the services of Mr. Narasimha Rao, who introduced economic reforms for the development of the country. The TDP district general secretary, Gandra Nalini, said that the country had lost a true statesman. She expressed condolences to the bereaved family members. KHAMMAM: The Khammam Zilla Parishad Chairman, Chanda Lingaiah, condoled the death of the former Prime Minister, P. V. Narasimha Rao. He said the country lost a great leader and visionary who served the nation with commitment. The country witnessed a new phase of development during P.V. Narasimha Rao's tenure as the Prime Minister. The District Congress (DCC) president, Vaama Venkateswara, expressed shock over Mr. Rao's demise. WARANGAL: Cutting across party affiliations, leaders of various political parties condoled the death of P.V. Narasimha Rao and recalled his contribution to the nation's development. The Hanamkonda MP, B. Vinod Kumar, described Mr. Rao as a great leader who turned around the economy. He made the India proud under whose stewardship the country made rapid strides. He said he feel proud to represent the Parliamentary constituency once held by the late Prime Minister. The District Congress Committee (DCC) president, G.V. Ramana Reddy, said that due to the economic reforms initiated under Mr. Rao's rule the country witnessed rapid development on all fronts. "Due to his economic reforms with human face, the country witnessed all-round development which helped every section of the society, Mr. Ramana Reddy added. The TDP district unit president, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, convened the party meeting and condoled the death of Mr. Rao. The TDP leaders hailed land reforms and economic reforms introduced by the late Prime Minister. TRS leader, J. Jacharaiah, said the country lost a great statesman and leader with the passing away of Mr. Rao. ADILABAD: P.V. Narasimha Rao, would be remembered in Adilabad district for his 1993 visit to the Gnana Saraswati temple at Basar. Old timers contend that it was only after his visit as Prime Minister that Basar got the desired recognition. Before the visit, the temple town was more familiar to Maharashtrians. The late Prime Minister had later laid the foundation stone for the flood flow canal of the Sri Ram Sagar Project at Pochampad in Nizamabad district. He also addressed a public meeting at Nirmal town in Adilabad district the same day. Narasimha Rao was also instrumental in starting the Navodaya Vidyalaya at Kagaznagar during his tenure as the Human Resource Development Minister in the Rajiv Gandhi Cabinet.
