Contractors threaten stir

KOCHI, DEC. 23. The All Kerala Government Contractors Association has demanded that the Government take immediate steps for the payment of arrears. The Government owes the contractors about Rs.1,350 crores as arrears during the last two years. K.A. Abdulla, president of the association, said here that the contractors would be forced to take the warpath if the Government failed to pay them immediately. A meeting of the contractors, to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on December 30, will decide the future course of action, he said.
