Foggy Friday morning

NEW DELHI DEC. 23. Delhiites will wake up to yet another foggy morning on Friday, with the sky remaining partly cloudy for the rest of the day. The minimum temperature will hover around 10 degrees Celsius.

The maximum and the minimum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung on Thursday were 19.8 and 11.1 degrees Celsius respectively, while Palam recorded a maximum of 19.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 11.6 degrees Celsius.

The maximum and the minimum relative humidity at Safdarjung was 95 per cent and 57 per cent respectively. At Palam also the maximum humidity stood at 95 per cent while the minimum humidity was 59 per cent.

Woman alleges rape by cop

NEW DELHI DEC 23. A 32-year-old woman resident of Kalkaji in South Delhi district has registered a complaint at the area police station alleging that a beat constable deployed at B-Block Kalkaji, had raped her in her house on Wednesday night.

Having registered a complaint today, the woman said that the beat constable entered her house at the pretext of asking for water and later assaulted her. The woman, who runs a boutique, is divorced and her two children were at their grandparent's house when the incident took place. No arrests have been made so far.

Labourers injured

NEW DELHI DEC. 23. Five labourers were injured when an under-construction wall collapsed on them at Kotla Mubarakpur in South Delhi today. Three of them sustained serious injuries.

According to a fire department spokesperson, the incident occurred in the basement of a building at A-Block in Arjun Nagar, where a wall was being constructed. Around 4-30 p.m., the wall collapsed and five labourers got trapped underneath it.

A rescue team of the fire brigade rushed to the spot and managed to take out all the five labourers from the debris. They were taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences where three were admitted with serious injuries. The other two were discharged after first aid as they had sustained minor injuries.

Kotla Mubarakpur police have registered a case of negligence and are investigating further.

Minor raped

by neighbour

NEW DELHI DEC. 23. A 13-year-old girl had been allegedly raped by her neighbour three times in the past four months, in the Nangloi area in west district. The incident came to light when the girl told her parents about the assault, and told them that the same had happened three times in the past four months. The parents have registered a complaint. The accused is absconding.
