Mega show at Children's Park

KOCHI, DEC. 23. Christmas and New Year Mega Show 2004-05 will be held from December 24 to January 2 at the Indira Priyadarshini Children's Park in the city.

The 10-day long show, organised by the District Child Welfare Council, will be inaugurated by K.V. Thomas, MLA. The District Collector, A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish, who is also the president of the Council, will preside over the function. Playback singer Biju Narayanan will be the chief guest.

According to T.V. George, and C.P. Mammu, secretary and vice-president respectively of the Council, the show is directed by the film star Nadirsha. The park has been decorated with colourful lamps and stars. A colourful stage has been erected near the recreation pond in the park. Sports and cultural events for children and parents have also been arranged. The Collector will present certificates to those who participated in the events. Mini-screen actors and actresses will be chief guests at the each day's programmes.

The programmes to be staged by inmates of Jana Seva Sisubhavan, Twinkle Dance School children, staff at the Collectorate, Cochin Harbour Rotaract Club will add colour to the programmes.

Entry free for children

The show will be on from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. Entry will be free for children below 10 years.

New toy jeeps and cars have already reached the park. Besides, new playing equipment like four-seater swings, climber, revolving swings and ducks have also been erected. Toy train has been repaired and made operational. The equipment at the National Renewal Energy Park inside the children's park have also started functioning.
