RTC strike deferred

HYDERABAD,
DEC. 23.
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, Transport Mazdoor Sangh has deferred the proposed one-day strike slated for Friday.
In a statement, M. Nageswara Rao, general secretary of the Sangh, said that the decision to defer the strike was taken as the State Government responded positively to the strike notice by releasing three GO's immediately.
The GOs released included provision of immediate financial assistance of Rs. 125 crores, an additional amount of Rs. 67.50 crores towards reimbursement of concessions given by the RTC to different sections of society and appointment of a high-level committee including the Special Chief Secretary to Industries and with the RTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director as convener, according to a press release.
