HYDERABAD, DEC. 23. The Saifabad police on Wednesday arrested Syed Amzad Ali (29) of Murgi Chowk and Mohd. Abdul Waseem (22) of Purani Haveli on the charge of involvement in 36 chain-snatching cases. Stolen gold chains and bracelets weighing 91 tolas were recovered from them, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, V. Dinesh Reddy, told a press conference here on Thursday. After completing B. Com. course, Ali went to Dubai in 1997, worked as computer operator there till 2003 and returned. However, he was forced to spend his money on his ailing father. Waseem was also a graduate and was managing his father's cloth showroom. He lost everything after the business ran into losses. The two became friends while playing a cricket match last year. In order to meet their needs, the two joined hands and allegedly resorted to snatching of chains and bracelets from February. The Saifabad Detective Inspector, P. Isthari, picked up the two while moving under suspicious circumstances.
