BANGALORE, DEC. 23. The Airport Police have arrested two persons on the charge of kidnapping a two-and-a-half-year-old child in Konena Agrahara. The police gave the names of the arrested persons as Premkumar (23) and Suravana Bhatia (22). A search is on for another person. The police said the gang members had kidnapped Premkumar's relative, Nitish Kumar, in August for ransom with a view to repay loan. After keeping the child with them for a few hours they returned the child.
Recovered
The Kalasipalyam Police have arrested five persons on the charge of attempting robbery near the Kalasipalyam Bus Stand. They have recovered iron rods, razors and chilli powder from the arrested persons. The police gave the names of the arrested as Gopi (25), Jayaram (20), Javed (20), all from Kalasipalyam, Munna (35) of Padarayanapura and Lokesh (33) of Channapatna.
Arrested
The Hanumathnagar Police have arrested Venkatesh (22) of Raghavendra Colony and Siddaraju (21) of Vithal Nagar in connection with five burglary cases. They have recovered gold and silver ornaments valued at Rs. 50,000.
Marijuana seized
The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police have arrested a person on the charge of selling marijuana in Chamarajanagar. The police recovered five kilograms of marijuana valued at Rs. 25,000. The arrested whose name was given as Mubarak (20) was selling marijuana near a lodge, the police said.
Recovered
The CCB Police have arrested Ajay Kumar (27) of Vithal Nagar on the charge of selling pirated MP3s and video compact discs of films in his shop. They have recovered such discs valued at Rs. 31,000.
