BELLARY, DEC. 24. Chornur Kotrappa, Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture, has urged the Kannada Sahitya Parishat to chalk out programmes that would negate the impact of the onslaught on Kannada and desi culture and tradition owing to globalisation.
Inauguration
He was speaking after inaugurating the launch of activities of the district unit of the parishat at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday. Nishti Rudrappa, president of the district unit, presided over the function. Mr. Kotrappa was of the view that Kannadigas should realise that development of Kannada was possible only by Kannadigas. He wanted them to develop love towards the Kannada language and its culture and tradition. He assured that his department would extend full cooperation to all the pro-Kannada organisations for the development and propagation of Kannada. The lecturer in Munirabad College, K. Mudegowda, spoke about the life and works of Kuvempu.
