PONDICHERRY, DEC. 24. The Pondicherry Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, today said Christmas highlighted the importance of humanism. Extending his greetings to the people, particularly to members of the Christian community, Mr. Rangasamy said he wished them all prosperity and happiness. The Lt. Governor, M.M. Lakhera, said Christmas was a time of joy and prosperity and also of generosity, compassion and peace that `binds all together in celebration.' The Archbishop of Pondicherry, Most Rev. Dr A Anandarayar said `may the celebration of Christmas enlighten and encourage us to witness to God who is Love, by our way of life.' The Pondicherry Pradesh Congress Committee president, V. Narayanasamy MP, the Agriculture Minister, A. Namassivayam, and the Education Minister, K. Lakshminarayanan, also greeted the people.
