CHENNAI, DEC. 24. Sun TV has signed an agreement with Buena Vista International Television-Asia Pacific (BVITV-AP) for accessing and screening the blockbuster library features of the latter on its multi-dialect television network.

Under this deal, Sun TV network viewers would get to watch a slate of international box office hits and evergreen favourites that include `Mission to Mars,' `Pearl Harbour' and `Billy Bathgate.'

"This deal marks a significant milestone for Sun TV as we move into a new strategic direction of diversifying and further expanding our programme mix," said Kalanidhi Maran, Chairman and Managing Director of Sun TV, in a release:

Noting that it was to "fulfil the increasingly sophisticated tastes of Indian viewers," he pointed out that "BVITV's blockbusters have a renowned mass appeal to movie lovers."

Steve Macallister, senior vice-president of BVITV-AP, said: "We are thrilled to work with Sun TV, in their first-ever deal with a major Hollywood studio, for delivering world-class titles to their audience."
