Japanese aid promised for canal works
CUDDAPAH,
DEC. 24.
A Japanese delegation, which inspected the Mylavaram dam in Jammalamadugu constituency on Friday, assured assistance for developing its ayacut.
Irrigation engineers told the Japan-based JVIC officials, Kameo and Chief Engineer, Siao Jak, that the project would require Rs. 160 crores for modernisation of its canals and submitted relevant reports. The Japanese team told newsmen that the plea for aid would be considered.
They enquired with the Superintending Engineer of Galeru Nagari Sujala Sravanthi, Chandrasekhar Reddy, and the Executive Engineer, Venkataramana, about the proposed modernisation works and water allocation.
