VELLORE, DEC. 24. K. Subramaniam, former Advocate-General of the Tamil Nadu Government and Kanchi Sankara Mutt advocate called on the Sankaracharya, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, in the central prison here this afternoon. Responding to newspersons' queries, Mr. Subramaniam said he met the seer to seek his New Year blessings. It was his practice to seek the Sankaracharya's blessings every new year. Asked about the seer's health, Mr. Subramaniam said though he looked weak, the Acharya was in good spirit. He said he did not discuss with the Acharya the Sankararaman murder case, in which Sri Jayendra Saraswathi is the prime accused. Earlier in the day, the Sankaracharya's brother, Viswanathan, and the latter's son-in-law, Sundar, called on the seer.
