By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
DEC. 24.
Several leaders and organisations today condoled the death of P.V. Narasimha Rao. They recalled Rao's contribution to the country, particularly economy, and the State.
O.P. Goenka, Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry president, lauded him as father and architect of the liberalised economic policies. The Andhra Pradesh State Teachers Union described him as an astute politician and muti-faceted personality and a linguist.
V. Shyamsundar Rao, former MLC, lauded the late leader for ushering in new education policy. M. Omkar, former MLA, and B.N. Reddy, former MP, praised Rao for introducing land reforms which brought him closer to the poor.
No sitting for panel
The B.K. Somasekhara Commission did not sit as a mark of respect to the leader. It adjourned the day's proceedings to December 27.
