A view of the crowd at the CPI(M) meeting in the city on Friday.
HYDERABAD, DEC. 24. The CPI (M) State secretary, B.V. Raghavulu, has criticised the TRS for not taking up any irrigation or development project for Telangana despite being in the Ministry in the State and at Centre. "TRS leaders claim that they will take up all issues after the formation of a separate Telangana. But they are not averse to taking up plum ministries," he charged and cautioned people against the `opportunistic' politics of the TRS. Mr. Raghavulu was addressing a public meeting here on Friday at the inauguration of a two-day district conference of the Hyderabad city CPI (M). Referring to the Congress Government in the State and the UPA Government at Centre, Mr. Raghavulu said that they were pursuing the same economic policies of the previous TDP and NDA Governments. "It was these `anti-people' economic policies that caused the defeat of TDP and NDA Governments. The Congress should learn a lesson from it and not commit the same mistake," he said. The CPI (M) would not hesitate to launch militant agitations if anti-people economic policies were continued and asked people to prepare to protect their rights. P. Madhu, MP, CPI (M) Hyderabad city secretary, P.S.N. Murthy, and the Ranga Reddy district secretary, D.G. Narasimha Rao, were among the other leaders who spoke.
