The institutions of education
The crisis of education was in part created by the collapse of those institutions that had neither the democratic nor the professional autonomy to sustain themselves against government directives. This has to be corrected. Such a correction should be the priority of the present Government, argues Romila Thapar, the eminent historian of early India.
