ANANTAPUR, DEC. 25. Lack of value-based education at primary and secondary level has resulted in decline in nationalistic views among citizens, the ABVP National Saha Sanghatan secretary, Surendra, has said and stressed the need for an education system which can meet the country's needs. Speaking at the concluding session of the 24th State congress of ABVP here today, he said only a proper education system could inculcate love and respect for the country among citizens. The NCERT had been changing textbooks for the last two years without any strong reason. The remarks of Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Arjun Singh, that history in the existing textbooks was not correct and his directions to introduce new history was also creating confusion. Alleging that educated lot were in front of exploiting the country, he said corruption among the Government employees was very high. He opined that education should improve efficiency and not corruption.
