KARAD, DEC. 25. Uttar Pradesh registered a five-wicket win over Maharashtra to collect four points in their four-day Ranji Trophy Elite Group `B' match here on Saturday. Set a target of 231, Uttar Pradesh reached it without fuss. Resuming at 59 for one, Uttar Pradesh made 234 for five as Rizwan Shamshad top-scored with 78 (106b, 11x4). Opener Jyoti Yadav made 50. Shivakant Shukla (40) and Shamshad added 114 for the fourth wicket.

At Mumbai: 292 & 264 for eight decl. bt Karnataka 166 & 185 in 76.2 overs (S. Somasundar 40, S. Joshi 45 not out, Ramesh Powar five for 84). Mumbai 4 points, Karnataka 0.
