ETAWAH, DEC. 25. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supreme, Mulayam Singh Yadav, today claimed the party would emerge stronger in the State similar to the CPI(M) in West Bengal. Mr. Yadav told party workers that the SP should capitalise on its "popular mandate" and strengthen the party from the grassroots. He said the party would only fight "important seats" in Jharkhand, Bihar and Haryana assembly elections rather than contesting in all constituencies. "Our party is heading towards greater heights and no one can stop the SP for greater role on a national level," he observed. -- UNI
