SANGAREDDY, DEC. 25. In a ghastly incident, a man allegedly thrashed his wife and later burnt her alive. Atkuri Ramulu resident of Alugolu village of Zaheerabad division, allegedly poured kerosene on his wife, Leelamma (24), and set her on fire late on Friday night. Lelamma was charred to death even before their neighbours could raise an alarm. According to Zaheerabad police Yadaiah is an alcoholic and used to pester his wife for money. Zaheerabad police arrested Yadaiah.
Two die in mishap
Two persons died in an accident near Ranzole village under Zaheerabad police station limits in the early hours of Saturday. Irugupalli Yadaiah (22) resident of Polkampalli village died on the spot and Ashok (24) resident of Magdhoompalli died in Zaheerabad Government hospital when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling hit a truck on National Highway nine. The autorickshaw packed with ten passengers returning from Zaheerabad, hit a truck coming in opposite direction. The mishap occurred when the driver of the autorickshaw tried to overtake a tractor loaded with sugarcane. Driver of the autorickshaw escaped unhurt.
