NEW DELHI, DEC. 25. Crime and Intelligence Wing personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force challenged, chased and nabbed a young man who was allegedly trying to steal the scooter of an Airports Authority of India employee at Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Friday afternoon. It was around 2 p.m. that Sub-Inspector Sanjay Kumar on CCTV surveillance duty noticed two persons loitering outside the Terminal Building near the New Gate of the air-conditioning plant adjacent to the perimeter wall. He immediately informed the CIW team led by Inspector A.S. Samyal which kept the duo under watch and intercepted them at around 4 p.m. while they were unlocking a scooter (DL-45AE-4293) parked outside the air-conditioning plant. The personnel subsequently intercepted the duo and tried to enquire about the motive of their presence at the spot. But sensing trouble, the accused began running away. They were chased by the CISF staff which managed to apprehend one of the two, identified as Sunil Kumar, a resident of Hazipur Lane in Delhi Cantonment. The accused, who was later handed over to the IGI Police station, allegedly confessed that he and his associate had come to the airport to steal a vehicle.
