Bypoll to Luni seat on January 24

NEW DELHI,
DEC. 26.
The by-election to the Luni Assembly constituency in Rajasthan will be held on January 24. The seat fell vacant on October 22 following the death of Ram Singh Bisnoi.
According to theElection Commission, a formal notification will be issued on December 30 and the last date for filing of nominations will be January 6. The scrutiny of the nominations will be done the following day.
The last date for withdrawal of the nominations is January 10 and the counting will be on January 28.
The model code of conduct has come into effect and it will apply to the entire Jodhpur district.The Commission has decided to use electronic voting machines (EVMs) in all polling stations.
