Drive against illegal number plates

NEW DELHI, DEC. 26. Nearly 500 vehicles have been challaned in the past six days under a drive launched by the West District Police against vehicles plying with illegal and defective number plates.

West District police chief Neeraj Thakur today said 53 vehicles were impounded after its drivers could not produce the required documents. As many as 6,212 vehicles were checked during the drive leading to penalties for 487 people.
