Chandrahawsa in the lead

VIJAYAWADA, DEC.26. Koneru Chandrahawsa emerged sole leader at the end of fifth round of the All India FIDE-rated chess tournament here today. Chandrahawsa ended the day with five points after her win against S. K. Sinha.

In a Sicilian Defence, Chandrahawsa got a middle-game advantage and quickly capitalised white's Nf3 error on the 21st move.

Soon she created a passed pawn and predictably wrapped up the game in the 36th move.
