Letters to the Editor
Sir, Except news channels, all the television channels continued to relay entertainment programmes on Sunday. When alarming rumours were making the rounds and people panicked, the channels should have devoted more time to inform them of the real position. Could they not cancel their entertainment programmes even on a day when thousands across the State lost their lives and homes?
S.V. Sankaran,
* * * Sir, Natural calamities are unexpected. The media should not try to score political points using the tsunami tragedy. How can rescue operations start immediately? Hope the television channels give more importance to the emergency needs of the people than resort to the blame-game in the coming days. P. Mohan, Chennai
