Continued quake activity

VISAKHAPATNAM. DEC. 27. After the intense earthquake (8.9 on Richter scale) on Sunday, several earthquakes continue to occur in this area extending to the Andaman and Nicobar islands, according to a special bulletin issued by Cyclone Warning Centre here on Monday evening. On Monday 25 earthquakes of magnitude 5.4 to 7.3 were recorded. Out of this 17 occurred in the Andaman islands and neighbourhood. In view of the continued earthquake activity tidal waves reaching up to 2 to 3 metres are likely along and off the coastal Andhra. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea for next 24 hours.
