KONDOTTY, DEC. 27. Holder MG opened its campaign with a 25-16, 25-17, 25-19 against Punjab in the All-India inter-university women's volleyball championship at the EMEA Colelge courts here on Monday. In other matches, Kurukshetra beat Kannur 25-19, 13-25, 25-22, 25-23 and Kerala had a walk over Delhi.
Kerala triumphs
Meanwhile on Sunday, Kerala won the South-West Zone inter-universtiy women's volleyball championship, beating host Calicut 25-16, 18-25, 25-15, 25-11 in its final superleague match. Kerala won all its three games. Calicut, with two wins finshed runner-up.
Other results (superleague): Calicut bt Kannur 25-20, 21-25, 25-20, 25-17; Kerala bt MG 25-14, 17-25, 27-25, 25-21; MG bt Kannur 23-25, 25-23, 28-26, 25-21.
