TDP leader shot dead

. A TDP leader from Cuddapah district, C. Veeranjaneyulu (33), was shot dead in a private bus by unidentified persons on the outskirts of the city in the wee hours of Monday.
Veeranjaneyulu, who was vice-chairman of the party's BC cell, was proceeding to Hyderabad. The assailants struck when the bus stopped near a canteen at the Tungabhadra checkpost at around 2.30 a.m. The victim was fast asleep at the time of the attack. They pumped bullets into him from a revolver.
According to the police, the assailants had followed the bus in an unnumbered vehicle. Four persons were involved in the attack. While two of them waited in the vehicle, the other two carried out the killing.
Veeranjaneyulu was a close follower of the TDP MLA, Veera Sivareddy.
