CHENNAI, DEC. 27. The Apollo chain of hospitals has thrown open its entire range of healthcare services free of cost to the victims of the tsunami in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Sri Lanka.

The group has urged its staff and individuals associated with it to help victims in every possible manner.

A multi-location support system has been put in place to ensure quality healthcare assistance reaches all those who survived the disaster.

Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, Hyderabad, Vishakapatnam, Kakinada, Madurai and Colombo have been geared to manage the situation and any emergency that might take place. The group's chairman, Pratap Reddy, said: "Even though we cannot fight a natural disaster, we can try to minimise the effects it leaves behind. Apollo Hospitals will provide all medical help to people who suffered the calamity on Sunday. We need to ensure that there are minimal chances of any epidemic in the camps and other areas where the victims of the tsunamis are sheltered."
