Reach rural patients, homoeopaths told

By Our Special Correspondent

JAIPUR, DEC.27. The Rajasthan Governor, Pratibha Patil, today called upon the physicians practising homoeopathy to provide their services in the rural areas to benefit the villagers with economical therapy and popularise the medicinal stream in the far-off regions. She underlined the need for research in new fields of homoeopathic treatment.

Inaugurating the 16th All-India Homoeopathic Congress here, Ms. Patil emphasised that homoeopathy was a scientific, effective and inexpensive method of treatment without any side-effects. "When the developed countries are adopting homoeopathy in a big way, there is no reason why we should lag behind. Our homoeopathic doctors should establish a direct dialogue with the patients," she said.

The president of the Homoeopathic Medical Association of India, Mahendra Singh, said the system of medicine had developed at a fast pace during the last 35 years and its education was given priority in all the States.
