THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 27. The Congress leader P.J. Kurien and the CPI leader C. Divakaran today filed their nomination papers for the lone Rajya Sabha seat, byelection to which is due to be held on January 6. The two candidates filed two sets of nominations each. Mr. Kurien's name was proposed by the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, and the UDF leaders A.K. Antony, P.K. Kunhalikutty, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, K.R. Gouri, M.V. Raghavan, Babu Divakaran, K. Sankaranarayanan, M. Murali and Pratapavarma Thampan in the first set of nomination. The second set of nomination was proposed by the Ministers Aryadan Mohammed, Vakkom Purushothaman, K.C. Venugopal, N. Sakthan, K.P. Vishwanathan, K.K. Ramachandran, Dominic Presentation, A.P. Anil Kumar and Adoor Prakash and the Congress leader K. Mohankumar. The LDF leaders K.P. Rajendran, K. Radhakrishnan, C.K. Nanu, A.A. Aziz, V.C. Kabeer, Pirappankode Murali, A.K. Moideen, Benoy Vishwom, P.S. Supal and M. Kumaran proposed Divakaran's name in the first set of his nomination. In the second set, the LDF leaders Mangode Radhakrishnan, T.K. Balan, N. Rajan, P. Narayanan, M.V. Jayarajan, Girija Surendran, Saju Paul, Manjalamkuzhi Ali, V.K. C. Mammed Koya and V.K. Chandran proposed Mr. Divakaran's name.
