RAMESWARAM, DEC. 27. The Governor, Surjith Singh Barnala, today said he would send to the Centre a report about the extent of human and property loss caused by the tsunami on Sunday. The State Government and other agencies were carrying out relief operations. He was speaking to reporters after offering prayers at the `Guru Nanak Dham' here. Asked whether the Centre sought a report from him, he said it had sent two Ministers to visit the affected areas and the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa made an aerial survey of the affected areas. Relief operations were under way. Asked whether he was satisfied with the relief operations being carried out by the Government, Mr. Barnala said he would have to talk to the officials before making comments. Earlier, Mr. Barnala, along with family members, visited the Guru Nanak Dham, where the founder of the Sikh religion had stayed about 500 year ago. He also visited the Sri Ramanathaswamy temple and the house of President Abdul Kalam.
