CHENNAI, DEC. 27 . The rail link to Nagore, a pilgrim town, was cut off as a seven-km track between Nagapattinam and Nagore was completely damaged. The Tsunami tossed up 16 fishing trawlers on the track yesterday. Twelve minor bridges were also damaged and the embankment was heavily eroded at many places. The total damage was assessed at Rs 1.5 crores and it will take at least 15 days for the administration to restore traffic. Now all trains are terminated at Nagapattinam, according to Southern Railway officials here. The General Manager will inspect the damage tomorrow. On Sunday, the Minister of State, R. Velu, visited the affected area.
