KARIMNAGAR, DEC 27. To attract commuters to RTC buses and improve the occupancy ratio, the APSRTC Karimnagar region has embarked on an ambitious training programme of drivers, conductors and supervisors under the title of `Prayanikule mana jeevanadharam' (passengers - our life line). The first batch of training programme was inaugurated here on Monday by the regional manager, P Rajender. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the RTC had lost about 53 crore commuters during the last eight years. He stressed the need to attract commuters to RTC. He called upon RTC employees to behave politely with passengers and ensure that they travel in RTC buses.
Conduct of crew
The deputy chief mechanical engineer, Shamukham, listed tips to attract customers with politeness, friendship, greeting each other and payment of correct change after collection of bus fare. He told the RTC crew to educate passengers on the services provided in buses. He also told the crew members to help aged persons. The Karimnagar I depot manager, K Sudarshan Rao, the II depot manager, T Rajaram, and the assistant managers, Mallaiah, Vijaya Kumar, P Hanumanth Rao and R Narender Rao, were present.
