NEW DELHI, DEC. 27. A 40-year-old mother of six children was shot at allegedly by some carborne assailants in Rohini Sector 7 in North-West Delhi today. While the victim is stated to be in a critical condition, the police are yet to identify the assailants. According to the police, it all happened in the afternoon when Geeta Talwar was buying vegetables at a Mother Dairy booth in the market. Eyewitnesses told the police that some people in a Maruti car fired at her and fled from the scene. One of the bullets hit her in the back and pierced her stomach. Geeta was rushed to Mahavir Hospital where she was operated on. The police said she was still not fit for a formal statement. Enquiries so far have revealed that Geeta is married to Amarjeet Talwar but was not in talking terms with him lately. She had been living with someone else at Rohini Section 8. The couple has six children, including five daughters. Meanwhile, a case of attempt-to-murder has been registered at Rohini police station. The police are questioning Geeta's husband and the person with whom she had been living to get a clue to the attempt on her life.
