TIRUCHI, DEC 27. The Chief Bridge Engineer of Southern Railway, Rajamony, the Tiruchi Divisional Railway Manager, D.K. Saraf, and senior officials inspected damaged railway track between Nagapattinam and Nagore today. Sources said the officials went to Nagapattinam and Nagore visiting level-crossing gates and the Nagpattinam beach station. They discussed the extent of damage caused to the tracks by the tidal waves and steps to be taken to restore the damaged line. The railway authorities distributed food packets to the passengers who got stranded at the Nagapattinam railway station.
