BANGALORE, DEC. 27. Two men diverted the attention of a car driver and took away a suitcase containing Rs. 15 lakhs from the car on Residency Road on Monday. The police said that around 11.30 a.m. Sudhakar, manager of an export agency, got into his car after withdrawing Rs. 15 lakhs from Federal Bank on Residency Road. Two men went to Mr. Sudhakar and told him that the bank manager was calling him. Mr. Sudhkar left the suitcase in the car and walked into the bank. The two men then picked a conversation with the driver, diverted his attention and took away the suitcase, the police said. The Ashoknagar police are investigating. Two women robbed: Two women were robbed of gold jewellery and a mobile phone in Wilson Garden and Chamarajpet police station limits on Sunday night. The police said that around 8.30 p.m. a youth snatched a mobile phone from B.B. Harini, a receptionist at a hospital, when she was waiting for a bus in front of NIMHANS. His accomplice bit Harini on her hand and relived her of two gold bangles, the police said. The Wilson Garden police have registered a case. In another incident around 8 p.m. a youth gagged Uma and robbed her of a gold chain worth Rs. 20,000 near Vittal Mandir in Chamarajpet Police Station limits. When Uma and her husband, Nagaraj, who was with her, raised an alarm, an alert public chased the youth and caught him. While trying to escape, the youth jumped a compound wall and fell, injuring his legs, the police said.
