Around the City

Mainly clear sky forecast

The sky will be mainly clear on Tuesday, according to the Meteorological Department forecast. The minimum temperature will be around 16 degrees Celsius. On Monday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 29.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 14.7 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 52 per cent. At the airport, the maximum temperature is 28 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 13.3 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 52 per cent.

Mock GATE on Sunday

The Engineers Study Circle will conduct two mock three-hour GATE 2005 examinations for aspirants of the examination on January 2 and 30. Computer science, electronics and communications, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering will be the subjects covered under the examination. For details, call 25580982.

Sunday art programme

The Visual Art Workshops is organising, for 12 Sundays, a Sunday art programme in fibreglass sculpture, murals and 3D sculpture. The workshop, to be held from January 2, will take place at the Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs between 10.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. For details, call 26890006.

APTDC trip to Tirupati

The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation will operate a daily Volvo air-conditioned bus from Bangalore to Tirupati for quick and convenient darshan. The fare for adults is Rs. 1,150 and for children Rs. 920. The fare includes transportation, bathing facility and a darshan of Lord Venkateshwara and Padmavathi. Water adalat today

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board is holding a water adalat to settle disputes connected with water billing, delay in giving water supply for customers belonging to West of Chord Road 1 and 2, Basaveshwara Nagar 1st to 4th block, Industrial Nagar, Dasarahalli, Kamakshipalya, Kamalanagara, Manjunath Nagar, Shivanagar and BEML Nagar at the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer of west division on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
