Charity cricket match for tidal wave victims

HYDERABAD,
DEC.27.
Naandi Foundation, in coordination with Indian Civil Society, will organise a charity cricket match on Wednesday at Lal Bahadur Stadium.
The match is being organised to raise funds for the victims of the tidal waves, which struck the Indian coastline and other South-East Asian nations.
According to a press release, the matches will be played from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The following teams are in the fray: Beyond Borders XI (team of Indo-Pak girls and boys), Hyderabad Civil Society XI (where anyone can be a player contributing Rs. 5000 or above).
The organisers said they were trying to rope in Test player V.V.S. Laxman, film star Chiranjeevi, badminton player Pullela Gopi Chand and former Test cricketer S.L.Venkatapathi Raju .
The organisers appealed to people to lend a helping hand to the needy. The contributions from the match will be handed over to the Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Further particulars can be had on phone nos. 98485 97011 or 98485 97010.
