Israeli team for more cooperation with India
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
DEC. 27.
Youth leaders from Israel on Monday expressed confidence that many projects in the fields of knowledge, science and technology could be taken up in both Israel and India.
A group of nine, led by Yoel Hasson, Advisor to the Israeli Prime Minister on Public Affairs, Ariella Gill, Project Director, Israel Youth Exchange Council and Michal Rozenboim, Government Legal Advisor were here on a two-day visit.
The BJP MLA, G. Kishan Reddy who was their host, said the delegation had met the Speaker, K.R. Suresh Reddy. They had invited him to an international conference for youth from 60 nations, to be held in Eilat in Israel in April, 2005. They had also spent a few hours at the Osmania University, interacting with representatives of youth organisations.
Mr. Hasson said the visit was primarily to open channels of communication and cooperation in various fields between the two nations.
"We are one of the world's smallest democracies and we are proud to say that our political and administrative system is modelled after India.
We are amazed how easily such a huge and unwieldy framework works here," he said.
