KOCHINEDUMBASSERY, DEC. 27.DEC. 27. The Ernakulam Town South police have arrested nine persons on charges of stealing idols and a crown from a temple in Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu. The first accused was arrested while he was trying to sell a crown. Four others were arrested for keeping the stolen goods and trying to sell them.

Denied passage

KOCHINEDUMBASSERY, DEC. 27.DEC. 27. Twelve people bound for Mumbai were denied passage by Air-India (AI) today, although they had confirmed tickets.

They were to fly by AI 691 at 3.45 a.m. They were denied passage owing to overbooking. the passnegers were finally, sent by the Jet Airways flight, 9W 406, at 8.30 a.m.
