Two arrested on charge of attacking priest

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 27. The police today arrested two youths in connection with the attack on a priest near Kudappanakkunnu Junction in Peroorkada police station limits last night.

According to the police, George Varghese, who was riding a scooter, was attacked around 11.30 p.m. by two motor-borne youths. The arrested persons were identified as Aji Kumar, 27, a resident of Kuravankonam, and Madhu, 27, a resident of Kudappanakkunnu.

According to the police, the youths are RSS activists. They are also involved in some other cases. They were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody till January 5.

Body found

The body of a 22-year-old youth was found in the bathroom of the Kochuveli boat club in Valiyathura police station limits today.

According to the police, the body was found at 6 a.m. and that the identity of the youth is yet to be ascertained. The body has been shifted to the mortuary of the Medical College Hospital.
