This Day That Age
Pakistan has formally welcomed India's proposal to open talks to settle the evacuee property dispute. In a letter to India's Minister of State for Rehabilitation on December 28, Sardar Amirazam, Pakistan's Minister for Rehabilitation, has reiterated the desire of his Government to settle this "intractable" dispute amicably and assured him of his full co-operation in this direction. This communication was in reply to the letter sent by the Indian Minister offering to visit Karachi next month for talks on the subject. It is also reported that the Pakistan Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Ali, who had familiarised himself with the subject before leaving for Jakarta, will discuss with Prime Minister Nehru in Indonesia the question of a meeting between the Rehabilitation Ministers of the two countries.
