HYDERABAD, DEC. 28. Faced with shortage of gas allocation for its expanded capacity, Regency Ceramics Limited (RCL) has made modifications in its factory for using furnace oil and light diesel oil. This would push up the production cost by almost 50 per cent (for expanded operations only), but the company is confident of offsetting this by coming out with more value added products, according to G. N. Naidu, Chairman. Recently, it completed expansion of capacity from 35,000 sq. m. to 70,000 sq. m. a day, and with the modifications in place, it expects to step up capacity utilisation to at least 60 per cent of total capacity in February, said Mr. Naidu addressing a press conference here. The company has targeted exports of Rs. 45-50 crores this year and a turnover of Rs. 250 crores. Mr. Naidu said it had started introducing value added products such as `duro' for heavy duty use.
