NEW DELHI, DEC. 28. In a gruesome incident, a 65-year-old paralytic man, his daughter and her husband were found brutally murdered in their Mukherjee Nagar house in North-West Delhi yesterday. The police suspect robbery to be the motive behind the incident as the caretaker, who was employed only a few months ago, is missing. According to the police, the incident came to light when the part-time domestic help, Meera, reached the second floor house of Sudarshan K. Sharma at West Parmanand Colony around 10 a.m. When she entered the house, she found the body of B.L. Dhawan, with several stab wounds, lying in the drawing room. The bodies of his 42-year-old daughter, Reeta Sharma, a teacher in the Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Prashant Vihar, and that of her husband, Sudarshan K. Sharma (48), who had taken voluntary retirement from UCO Bank, were found lying in a pool of blood in the bedroom. They too had been stabbed several times. The entire house had been ransacked and the locks of the almirahs and cupboards were found broken. Meera then informed the neighbours and the police were subsequently informed. The only surviving member of the family is 13-year-old Pulkit, son of Mr. Sharma, a Class VIII student of a Prashant Vihar school. He had gone to his aunt's place in Paschim Vihar to spend his Christmas holidays. Preliminary investigations revealed that Mr. Dhawan used to live with his younger daughter's family at Paschim Vihar. However, about four months ago he came to live with his elder daughter Reeta. The Sharma family then employed a caretaker, identified as Ravinder Nair (32), to assist Mr. Dhawan with his daily chores. According to the police, the Sharmas had not filled up and submitted the servant verification form provided to them.
