PATNA, DEC. 28. Six NDA leaders, including four MLAs, joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal today in the presence of the party supremo and Union Railway Minister, Lalu Prasad. The leaders who joined RJD were BJP State vice-president and former MP Madan Prasad Jaiswal, BJP MLA from Chanpatiya K K Mishra, Lakhisarai MLA Krishan Chandra Prasad Singh, JD(U) MLA Akhlak Ahmad and former Jharkhand Minister and JD(U) MLA Bachha Singh and former minister and JD(U) leader Nalini Ranjan Sinha. These leaders expressed their faith in Mr Prasad and said their political career would flourish under his leadership. Talking to newspersons, Mr Prasad invited all secular forces to unite under one platform and said they would be adjusted and accommodated in the RJD. He said all such parties would be given due representation in the party according to their genuine claims. Mr Prasad appealed to the like-minded forces to join hands to "save the image of the State". Mr Prasad said the opposition was trying to dislodge the RJD from power. He alleged that the so called secular parties who were trying to give an impression of distancing themselves from the communal forces were misleading the common people. He said such parties had recently tasted defeat in the last Lok Sabha elections and claimed their real face would be exposed in the coming Assembly elections. Regarding seat sharing with the Congress in the coming Assembly elections, he said the genuine claims of the Congress would be met. He, however, ruled out any dialogue with the party and maintained that only formal meeting with the Congress central leaders had taken place in which seat sharing was not on the agenda. Regarding announcement by the LJP President and Union Minister, Ram Vilas Paswan, for providing reservation to the Backward Muslims, Mr Prasad cautioned the minorities against falling prey to such assurances.
