CPI joins relief effort

HYDERABAD, DEC. 28. The State Council of the Communist Party of India will chalk out an action plan to help tsunami victims when it meets here on Wednesday, according to the party's Assistant State Secretary, K. Narayana.

He told presspersons on Tuesday that the assistance would be made through the party's Cyclone Relief Committee. The council members are expected to meet here in connection with the forthcoming State conference in February.

Mr. Narayana said that party leaders and cadres had visited six affected districts and had a first-hand look at the situation. He himself had gone around East and West Godavari districts.
