Mild tremor in Wayanad district

DEC. 28.
A few places in Wayanad district bordering Tamil Nadu experienced a mild tremor for a few seconds at 11.55 a.m. today.
The mild tremor was felt at the same time in Ayyankolli, Kulapulli, Attakadavu and Kallichal, near Tamil Nadu, and Nambyarkunnu, Chulliyode and Thovarimala in Nenmeni panchayat in Sulthan Bathery taluk. There were reports of local people hearing an explosion-like sound before the tremor.
Panic gripped the areas that experienced the tremor for some time. Cracks were found on the walls of six houses in Cheeran 62 area, while the roof tiles of a couple of houses fell down.
There was no other loss reported.
