SAI posts win

Sports Authority of India put paid to Namdhari XI's title quest with a 3-1 victory in the Super Division league hockey tournament here. Adarsh Ganapathy scored twice and Mayur Subbaiah was the other scorer for SAI. Namdhari's sole success was from Deedar Singh (jr) in the second half.
Madras Engineering Group hammered Central Excise 5-0 with Devdass notching up a hat-trick (19,31 and 51) Ignace Tirkey scored twice (57 and 66) for MEG.
Earlier in the first match, Canara Bank beat Pioneer Corps Training Centre 4-2. Ronald Kiran scored twice while John Verghese and Krishna Reddy were the other scorers for Canara Bank. PCTC's goals were scored by Kalyan Kumar and K. Anthony.
