GULBARGA, DEC. 28. Prarthi P. Jani topped the list of medallists of Gulbarga University this year with seven gold medals by scoring the highest marks in the MBA course from the faculty of Commerce and Management. The Vice-Chancellor of Gulbarga University, V.B. Coutinho, who released the list of gold medal and cash award winners at a press conference here today, said that B. Basavaraj, who secured the first rank in MA (Kannada) won six gold medals, and M.M. Umashankar (MA Social Work), Jyothi Ravindra Teganur (MCA), Jennifer Xavier (M.Sc. Bio-Technology), and Kumari Tanushree (LLB) bagged four gold medals each. He said that 69 students shared 125 gold medals instituted by the University and 12 students shared 10 cash awards in lieu of the gold medals this year. Apart from this, the university said that 45 students would be awarded Ph.D. degrees in the faculties of Arts, Commerce, Law, Education, Humanities, Science and Technology and Medicine. The convocation will be held at the main campus of the university on the outskirts of Gulbarga on December 30. Following is the list of the gold medal winners.
